Privacy
Privacy notice
The short version: this website sets no cookies and doesn’t track you. If you use the contact form, your message goes to Jake by email and nowhere else.
Who is responsible
This website belongs to Jake Rimmer, trading as JR Contracting in Lancashire. Jake is responsible for the personal information it collects. To ask anything about your information, use the contact form or message Jake on Facebook.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. Pages, fonts and photos all come from this website itself. The one exception is the spam check on the contact page, described below.
The contact form
When you send a message, what you type (your name, email address, message and, if you give them, your phone number and where the job is) is emailed to Jake. The website doesn’t keep a copy.
Jake uses it only to reply to you and to arrange any work you ask about. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and Jake’s legitimate interest in answering enquiries. He keeps enquiry emails only as long as he needs them for your enquiry and any work that follows. Jake’s email is provided by Google.
Spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To stop automated spam, the contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads from Cloudflare on that page only. Cloudflare sees technical details such as your IP address and browser to decide whether you’re a person, and handles them under its own privacy policy. No other page loads anything from Cloudflare or anyone else.
Server logs
Like most websites, the server records each request (IP address, page, time and browser) to keep the site secure and to fix faults. These logs are deleted after about five weeks. The server is hosted by Amazon Web Services in Ireland.
Links to Facebook are plain links. If you follow one, Facebook’s own privacy policy applies there.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information Jake holds about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Get in touch through the contact form or Facebook. If you’re unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
